Under-fire Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt worn in final Man Utd game up for auction

A match-worn Cristiano Ronaldo shirt from could be his final appearance as a Manchester United player has gone up for auction.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner looks set to leave the club for a second time following his blockbuster interview - with their defeat against Aston Villa in the Premier League being his final outing.

"Now, with United donating their full set of kits from their clashes against both Villa and Fulham to the Royal British Legion, with all shirts being auctioned by MatchwornShirt - one of Ronaldo's famous shirts is up for grabs.

With the auction closing at 2pm on Saturday (November 19), the leading bid has already climbed to over £22,000 with over 24 hours to go.

Ronaldo wore the shirt, that includes a poppy for Remembrance Day, in the first-half of the fixture on what is likely to be his final United appearance before leaving, it has since been washed and put up for sale.

Alongside the men's kit, United's WSL kits from their clash against Chelsea are also bringing in bids ahead of the deadline.

The proceeds go towards Royal British Legion through their Poppy Appeal, with finances going towards Armed Forces and communities facing hardships.

Ronaldo's shirt is of particular importance due to his impending departure at United, with follows his sit-down interview on TalkTV.

Following the 37-year-old's chat with Piers Morgan, United announced that they are considering their options over his future as he is at the World Cup with Portugal. Daily Star Sport understands the club will attempt to sue the player and cut short his contract, which runs until the end of the season.

He also revealed that he previously turned down a huge bid from Saudi Arabia that would've seen him earn around £3million-a-week and £305m in total.

Ronaldo is keen to put his club complaints behind him as he looks to win the World Cup with Portugal, with Bruno Fernandes insisting the squad is together.

Meanwhile, a statement on Friday from United read: "Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo ’s recent media interview."
