Ricardo Cepeda’s Brother Establishes GoFundMe Campaign to Provide Assistance in His Legal Struggle

RICARDO CEPEDA – Robert Go, the fraternal twin brother of actor Ricardo Cepeda, is seeking financial assistance for his brother’s legal costs through the establishment of a GoFundMe page.

The brother of actor Ricardo Cepeda, Robert Go, has sought financial assistance from netizens through the GoFundMe fundraising platform. Their goal is to raise USD 30,000 or P1,680,825.

Currently, the donations they have received amount to USD 6,813 or PHP 381,715.36.

Ricardo Cepeda was arrested on October 7, 2023, in Caloocan City, on charges of syndicated estafa. During that time, the actor endorsed a sales company that offered an investment scheme promising substantial profits in a short period.

However, when the company’s checks bounced, investors filed estafa charges against everyone they believed to be involved, including Ricardo.

Based on a report from GMA, Robert Go insisted in the GoFundMe page description that his brother is “wrongfully accused” and emphasized that he had no connection to the mentioned investment scheme.

“Ricardo’s role as an endorser, limited to promoting select products, has unfairly positioned him as the face associated with the company’s wrongdoing. Despite his lack of reason to hide, authorities detained him, adding an undeserved layer of difficulty to his situation,” he said.

Robert further added that the imprisonment of Ricardo not only took an emotional toll on their family but also caused “significant financial strain.” He mentioned that any savings the actor had from his projects were depleted over time due to unemployment and lack of income.

He added, “As he remains in custody in the Philippines until now, with no definite sign that he will be given his day in court, the mounting legal fees further exacerbate his financial challenges and driving him deeper in debt.”

Robert Go also detailed how Ricardo’s wife, Marina Benipayo, is currently striving to keep the family intact despite facing her challenges. He said, “While the truth stands firmly on Ric’s side, we await the court hearing that will allow him to prove his innocence. With his means of income on indefinite pause, we’ve initiated this GoFundMe campaign in the hope that others may assist during this trying time.”

Robert shared his hope for the allegations against Ricardo to be cleared and expressed his wish for the actor’s freedom. He also conveyed a brief message to netizens, explaining how his family values the time, prayers, and any contributions they receive.

“Your support, whether financial or through kind words and sharing, will help us spread the word,” said Ricardo’s brother.
