Nike Onile Obituary, Renowned Interior Designer Nike Onile Passes Away After Battle With Cancer

Toronto, ON – Nike Onile, a pioneering interior designer and founder of Toronto-based firm Ode Studio, has died after a long battle with cancer.

Onile, a first-generation Nigerian Canadian, initially pursued a career in healthcare, earning a degree in biotechnology and working in the medical field. However, her lifelong passion for art and design eventually led her to interior design, where she found her true calling.

Leveraging her keen aesthetic sense and creative vision, Onile founded Ode Studio, an interior design firm specializing in residential and commercial projects across Canada. The company quickly became known for its unique, avant-garde designs that managed to capture each client’s essence and personality. Her spaces married form and function, resulting in rooms that were as practical as they were artistically inspired.

In addition to running her successful firm, Onile also worked as a Design Expert for CityTV’s popular home improvement show CityLine, dispensing sage advice to viewers and sharing her considerable expertise. Her contributions to the industry have been widely recognized, earning her renown as one of Canada’s preeminent designers.

Upon receiving her tragic cancer diagnosis, Onile courageously fought the disease with fierce determination. As medical bills mounted, friends Danielle Nicholas Bryk, Samantha Pynn and Shereen Ashman set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover treatment costs. While the campaign’s initial purpose was to provide financial support throughout her treatment, funds are now being redirected to aid Onile’s grieving family members during this incredibly difficult time.

Onile touched countless lives through both her design work and television appearances. Her interiors will stand as a testament to her exceptional talent, while her memory will live on in the hearts of the many people she inspired with her wisdom, humor and generosity of spirit.

While words cannot adequately convey the sorrow of her loved ones in the wake of this immense loss, there is some solace in knowing that her struggles have ended, and she will continue lighting up rooms in her next life’s adventure, her luminous legacy permanently etched in time.
