Joe Burrow's epic response to neutral-site talk after Bengals win

Revenge is a dish best served ice cold.

Just ask Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who responded to the pregame chatter regarding a neutral site for the AFC Championship — in the event his Bengals fell to the Bills in the divisional round — by dominating Buffalo on Sunday, 27-10.

“Better send those refunds,” Burrow told CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson postgame, when asked about the AFC Championship talk that failed to include his Bengals.

Joe Burrow was asked about the NFL's plans for a neutral site AFC Championship game, and the tickets that were pre-purchase.

“Better send them refunds”

Ahead of Sunday’s playoff clash, Bengals running back Joe Mixon ripped the NFL as tickets for a potential neutral-site AFC Championship game between the Chiefs and Bills in Atlanta went on sale.

“I mean, to be honest, it’s disrespectful,” Mixon told WCPO’s Marshall Kramsky. “We’re not worried about that s–t. We’ve got a game to play on Sunday, right? So you can’t count us out.

“We’ve got a game to play on Sunday. All this stuff, that don’t mean s–t. We’re gonna go out there on Sunday and do what the hell we gotta do to get that [win], then we’re gonna see what they’re talking about.”

The idea of a neutral site emerged after the cancellation of the Bills-Bengals game in Week 17 following the scary on-field collapse of Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin. The Chiefs took the top seed in the conference based on winning percentage.

Hamlin, who is continuing his recovery, was in attendance for Sunday’s game in Buffalo.

The Bengals will now travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs next week in what will be a rematch from last year’s AFC Championship game. The Bengals topped the Chiefs in that contest to advance to Super Bowl 2022, where they fell to the Rams.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes appears to be counting down, tweeting an animation of an alarm clock on Sunday.
