Erin Lichy and Husband Launch Mezcal Brand, Talk 'RHONY' Style Moments
“Real Housewives of New York” star Erin Lichy and her husband, Abe Lichy, have launched Mezcalum, an organic mezcal.
The duo launched the new brand Thursday, and are advertising it as zero carb, zero sugar, artisanal and sustainably farmed. The spirit is curated from Espadin Agave and Cuishe, a variety from the valleys of Oaxaca, Mexico, and created in Doov Yaal, a family-owned and -operated distillery. It can be purchased online.
Tulum vacations served as inspiration for the brand, the duo said. They have been married since 2012 and traveling to Tulum for 20 years, they said.
“The thing about Tulum that’s so special is it’s this massive jungle on this beautiful, untouched strip of beach,” Erin told WWD. “Everybody there is really conscious. You can party all night, but then you wake up and do yoga, or have a green juice. That’s kind of the life that we subscribe to, you can have a spirited night but still wake up the next day and do all the things you wanted to do.”

The pair — who work as a real estate agent (Erin) and lawyer (Abe) — said they wanted to collaborate on something that brought balance and fun into their lives, without the hangover.
“The world increasingly and unfortunately is lacking in that. It’s important for us to spread this message in a literal product that surrounds itself in its own culture, taste and tradition,” Abe told WWD.
“I have three kids, I work like crazy and I can’t afford to be hungover. When I drink clean mezcal, I don’t get a hangover,” Erin added.
The pair just returned from celebrating Abe’s 40th birthday in Tulum earlier in October. Erin listed her go-to fashion pieces for the trip as Eres bathing suits, Johanna Ortiz festive dresses and Brunello Cucinelli slides.
“One thing I love about Tulum is that everything is on the beach, so you don’t really need shoes. It’s very laid-back, but it still has that air of sophistication,” Erin said, adding that she embraces “anything that is earthy, comfortable and easy to toss-on.”
Erin has been placed in the spotlight since starring in season 14 of “RHONY,” which also includes Jenna Lyons, Sai De Silva and Ubah Hassan. Erin shared that the season, which finished wrapping earlier in October, didn’t show all of the standout moments from the group’s time together.
“In the Hamptons, the night where Jenna [Lyons] sneaks out, we were dancing all night. We were having the best night ever,” she said. “I don’t know, they didn’t put that in there.”
Her biggest fashion moment in the show came as the Lichys celebrated their 12th anniversary, and she wore a sheer, chainmail MadeByIla dress. Reactions, both positive and negative, were strong.
“I didn’t love my chest in my anniversary dress. We were rushing, the whole thing wasn’t right,” Erin said. “I feel like you got a lot of slack for your anniversary dress,” Abe added.
Throughout the season, Erin said her favorite fashion looks were the more casual ones that lean into her laid-back New-Yorker-on-the-go aesthetic. “I liked that we all had moments of being casual too, because that’s very New York. I could throw on a leather jacket, jeans and go out,” she said.
