Chris Good Obituary, Death – At the age of 36, Christopher Alexander Good left this world peacefully and unexpectedly on November 17, 2023, in his hometown of New York, NY, at New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, after a long battle with an undetected heart condition. As was his usual experience in life, he was embraced by friends and family. Chris, the beloved second son of Drs. Celeste Margarita Good and Kevin Straight Good, was born in Greenville, North Carolina on November 6, 1987. Additionally, his older brother Justin cherished him as a little brother. Justin and Chris were more than just brothers; they had been best friends for nearly seven years. The strong bond shared by their sons was a source of great joy and pride for the Good parents.
The insatiable hunger for knowledge that Chris exhibited from birth was a foundational quality that served him well throughout his life. He was an exceptional young man. He developed a lifelong passion for reading after being encouraged to do so at an early age. In every facet of his life, he aspired to do more and improve himself more. Learning, in his opinion, was the most important factor, and he was open to suggestions from anyone: teachers, classmates, coworkers, and friends.
From kindergarten through high school, Chris was a student at Kinston, North Carolina’s Arendell Parrott Academy. He then went on to Woodberry Forest School in Virginia. In 2006, Chris graduated from Greenville, North Carolina’s Junius H. Rose High School, where he wrestled and was a member of the school’s wrestling team. Following in his brother’s footsteps, Chris attended UNC Chapel Hill as a pledge of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, being the loving little brother he was. He was very grateful for the four years he spent at Chapel Hill and the friends he met there. After completing his undergraduate studies at UNC-CH’s prestigious Kenan-Flagler Business School, Chris earned a BS in business administration in 2010.
Chris finally made his long-awaited move to the glittering city of New York after finishing college. There he pursued one of his life’s deepest interests—finance—and launched a prosperous and fruitful career. He got his start in the industry as an investment banker with Citigroup and RBC Capital Markets. Chris took a brief break from the city after gaining experience in mergers and acquisitions advising and capital markets transactions. He then moved to Boulder, Colorado, and worked as a private equity associate at Grey Mountain Partners, where he provided middle market companies with the opportunity to apply his extensive operational knowledge.
