Overall Meaning

In F.O.'s song American Wedding, the singer initially takes a walk with the palm trees as daylight falls while drinking sangria in a canteen and talking to himself. He realizes that the tattoo on his left hand is turning purple-ish blue and has daydreams of the romance he wishes he had with his pretty woman in a ballgown while he's dressed up like Richard Gere in a tuxedo. The singer then dramatically shifts his focus to his wedding day. He is getting married in a courthouse and writing his vows in a rush. He then proceeds to kiss his teenage wife passionately before the judge. The singer even gets a wedding band that he might take with him to the grave.
